Welcome to the Gate Inn, Boyden Gate

A classic example of a Kent country pub, the Gate Inn honours timeless tradition by serving beer straight from the barrel.

Join us for the reopening of The Gate Inn on Saturday the 9th March at 7pm. We will be open for drinks with a selection of canapes. We are really sorry but we are still waiting for the phone lines to be transfered to us, please call us on 07595973207 to speak to either Alice or Dan. Thanks

With muddy boots at the door and a serene stream outside, The Gate Inn in Boyden Gate is a picture-book example of the Kentish country pub.

A blissful place to enjoy hearty home-cooked food and traditional real ales, it enjoys a beautiful village location in the Kent countryside - just waiting to be discovered by the walkers, ramblers and cyclists exploring the area.Recent renovation has brought out the best in this cosy country pub, with its timeless tradition taking centre stage. Hanging hops form authentic Kentish decoration, while fine cask ales are served direct from the barrel in the old ‘tap room’ - a unique feature which saw the pub named Shepherd Neame’s ‘Beer Hero’ pub in 2015.

In fact, there’s charm and character at every turn. The spacious public bar boasts a quarry-tiled floor (walkers, twitchers, wellies and dogs welcome!), church pew seating and an original double-sided fireplace perfect for warming up on a winter’s day.

Meanwhile, the Old Bakery is home to an intimate dining area, where local foodies descend in their droves to savour famously good country kitchen fare.

For a further taste of the good life, there’s a beautiful beer garden here too, a joy to behold in summer with its pretty stream and blooming flowers. You might even get to meet some of the locals out here - our resident free-range chickens and ducks are sure to offer you a warm welcome!
